Catholics have valued art for millenia, in paintings, mosaics, buildings, statues, music, calligraphy, etc., and yet sometimes our current liturgical books don’t showcase the most inspirational of art.
Some liturgical books have made a lot of progress as of late, but our Liturgy of the Hours books haven’t had a update in many years.
Until now!
No, we don’t have new books. But with this quick do-it yourself project, your breviary will go from bland to illustrated manuscript instantly!
Well, not instantly. But follow these three simple steps:
- Download this .pdf of art for Volume 1 of the Liturgy of the Hours: Advent & Christmas: https://blessedsacramentalbany.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Breviary-Art-Vol-I.pdf
- Print it at 100% onto sticker paper (or on regular paper, and have a glue stick handy, borrowed from your parish elementary school).
- Cut out each image and affix them on the appropriate pages over the generic artwork.
Et violà!
